From the Ohio River to the shores of Lake Erie, OETA is an unforgettable cycling adventure across the Buckeye State. Each day brings new scenery, welcoming trail communities, and memorable experiences as we follow the Ohio to Erie Trail north through Ohio’s river valleys, farmland, Amish Country, and Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Below is a day-by-day overview of the tour, including ride mileage, overnight accommodations, and highlights along the way.
Friday, September 18
Arrival in Milford
Welcome to the Ohio to Erie Trail Adventure! Participants will be traveling to Milford for the start of the tour. After checking into the hotel, you’ll have time to assemble your bike, meet fellow riders, and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Saturday, September 19
Milford Shakedown Ride
Our optional shakedown ride follows the scenic Little Miami Trail to the Ohio River before returning to Milford. Along the way we’ll complete our traditional rear tire dip in the Ohio River and make any final bike adjustments before the tour officially begins.

Milford to Cedarville
The expedition officially begins as we head north along the beautiful Little Miami Scenic Trail toward Cedarville. This opening day showcases some of Ohio’s most popular rail trails and charming trail towns.

Tuesday, September 22
Westerville to Mount Vernon
Enjoy a relaxed day as we follow the Heart of Ohio Trail toward historic Mount Vernon. The shorter mileage gives riders time to explore downtown and unwind before the next stage.

Mount Vernon to Millersburg
Ride into the heart of Ohio’s Amish Country along the Kokosing Gap and Holmes County Trails. This evening we’ll enjoy one of the signature experiences of the tour with an authentic Amish dinner and local tour.

Millersburg to Akron
Our longest riding day takes us north toward Akron along the historic Ohio & Erie Canal corridor. The reward is a beautiful finish in downtown Akron near the Towpath Trail.

Akron to Cleveland
Our final day follows the Towpath Trail through Cuyahoga Valley National Park before arriving at Edgewater Park on the shores of Lake Erie. We’ll celebrate together with our traditional front tire dip and commemorate an incredible journey across Ohio.
