Jeff is a career nonprofit industry veteran, with success in organizational leadership, government relations, external affairs, fundraising and marketing. More importantly, he has been an avid cyclist for over 35 years and a respected leader in several sectors of the cycling industry in Ohio and nationally. He has amassed many accolades and accomplishments in the realm of ultra-endurance cycling events; however, it’s the excitement of exploring a new road on a bicycle that gives him the greatest joy.
Jeff has directed cycling events for nonprofit organizations in Virginia, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. He was on the leadership team for a new ownership’s significant turnaround of the Race Across AMerica (RAAM) in 2005-2007. He served as the first Executive Director of Central Ohio’s bicycle advocacy organization, Consider Biking, which drove the development of Columbus’ bike plan, bike share operation, and other active transportation developments in surrounding suburbs, which continue to grow and benefit the health of our communities. He co-owned Calvin’s Challenge, the nation’s largest 12-hour race.
Jeff’s unique skill sets in nonprofit management, a long history of managing cycling events, and a deep love for the cycling movement, will be great assets to serving Outdoor Pursuits and the significant engagement of our TOSRV and GOBA customer base. Jeff’s wife, Julie, has ridden by his side for over 20 years. Their daughter, Paige, is in her first year at Indiana University and scouting Little 500 teams.
