Councilmember Klein is sponsoring ordinance 0483-2013, for engineering for the Camp Chase Trail project. The project will construct a 10-ft. trail along the existing rail corridor from West Sullivant Avenue to Eureka Avenue, a span of about 3.5 miles. The trail will connect to and extend Metro Parks’ Camp Chase Rail Trail, and will be part of nearly 170 miles of trail all the way to Cincinnati. Locally, it will give Hilltop residents easy access to the greenway system of Columbus. There is also a connection to Big Darby Metro Park. Construction is expected to begin this fall; there will be another ordinance coming before Council in the next couple of months for that.

Some of our members have been interested in advertising their businesses in the COP newsletter, Columbus Outdoors for quite some time now.  For the past 5 or 6 years, we have not accepted such ads.  Well, time passes and board members move on.  Starting with the March issue, we will accept ads from our members as long as the product or business is legal, and does not involve banks, credit cards, insurance, travel or Tshirts (post office regulations for non-profit rate mail).  Buddy trips and competing programs are also excluded so as to not undermine our own activity programs.

Information including sizes, rates and deadlines can be found here

We have a New logo! (See October newsletter, front cover)
We are stilling working on color choices.
We will be using up materials with the old logo before printing new materials with this new logo so you will still be seeing the old logo for a while.

Also, it since we will have to make some adjustments to the newsletter layout to accommodate the different logo shape, this is a good time to make other design changes. This months’(October 2012) design is a possibility. Constructive comments may be sent to
