Ice Ax, Snow Travel Skill Session?

Date, time, cost TBD, probably mid March

Whether you are headed to the PCT or going mountain climbing, it’s a good idea to be familiar with an ice axe before you get there. Beginners and experienced, both are welcome.

When?  To be honest, we never know if we are going to get access to the snow until a day or two before the ski area decides to close. On the occasions we have managed to get the snow, it has been mid to late March.

If you are interested, go to March 10th entry and register to get on “the list”. You will get an email message if and when we know it’s a go.  Click here to go to March 10th entry.

Instructor?  Not me!  I'll be rounding up a genuine mountaineer to teach.

You do not need to own an ice axe to take this class!

Location: probably near Bellefontaine, Ohio

Cost: estimated at $20.00 for COP members, $30 for non-members, payable at the class

Coordinator: Ann Gerckens  614/ 282-2781
