    Come for this unique opportunity to find out about supported bicycle touring --COP-style. Slide show will get your freewheels fired up to go on one or all of these 3 tours. Come to reminisce because you’re a veteran or because you’re a neophyte and want to learn “everything you’ve wanted to know about going on a supported bike tour but were afraid to ask”.

    This is where COP trip leaders will create a rough schedule of boating trips for 2015.

    Everyone is welcome! We want to hear from rec kayak paddlers, white water boaters, canoeists, sea kayakers - everyone who wants to dip a paddle in the water!

    The meeting will be held at 6pm, at the Grandview Heights Public Library, 1685 W 1st Ave, Columbus, OH 43212. We will be in the meeting room in the basement.

    Please show up and help us create a strong schedule for 2015. If you would like to become a Boating Leader, we will have info on how that can happen as well.

    Heartsaver® First Aid Basics

    Monday, February 23rd, 2015.  6:00pm to 9:00 pm.

    Are you looking for a general First Aid class to prepare you to save the life of a loved one, family member or the cyclist ahead of you?

     COP Member Kristen Hunt has kindly volunteered to teach some first aid classes for us. She will be teaching the American Heart Association’s Heartsaver® First Aid Basics.

    Skills are taught using AHA’s research proven Practice-While-Watching technique, which allows Instructors to observe students, provide feedback and guide students’ acquisition of skills.

    This course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training and is suitable for people who expect to be within reach of an EMS system (911). Those who go more than an hour from help should seriously consider the Wilderness First Aid Class on March  7 & 8.

    Heartsaver® First Aid Basics includes
    . Scene safety, finding the problem, calling for help and more)

    · Medical emergencies (including actions for choking, breathing problems, shock and more)

    · Injury emergencies (including actions for bleeding, broken bones,
    burns and more)

    · Environmental emergencies (including actions for bites and stings, and temperature-related and poison emergencies)
